Made with high-strength powder-coated steel and heat-treated tine wires, our guards are built to last. Attached to the front of your grain platform, they reach out 12 inches ahead of the sickle to retrieve and deliver wild heads back into the platform. Our heat-treated flexible spring steel tine wires prevent fall away losses and slide the heads quickly back to the platform. Add Grain Saver Boots to catch shatter that would normally be lost to sickle vibration. They funnel grain back to the platform through specially designed valleys.

Farmers with very wide draper headers have found out that they can harvest almost 45 acres an hour with these big 45 and 50 foot headers but they need milo guards to feed better! ABM has a customer with a 50’ Deere Flex platform (HDF50) and milo guards and they are hitting 45 acres in 80 bushel irrigated milo. Without their milo guards they told us they were only getting about 36 acres per hour. Milo guards must work pretty darned good for those customers that want to really get ‘er done!

The 3 John Deere Cutting Systems• 3” cutting system is for all of the old 200-series platforms from the 1970’s and 1980’s prior to the first 900-series platforms FG-077 and FG-087 systems
• Deere did the new 600- and 900- series platforms (and also in some cases the HDR-series) with the LONG main guard points on 4” centers which use our ABM-D-6 system
• Later on they added the flex headers in several series (600—900-HDF—HDR—and RDFD-series) that use the BLUNT main guard points on 4” centers which use our ABM-D-3F system
• MacDon MAKES the new HydroFlex drapers for Deere but Deere does NOT use the MacDon cutting system. Most of the NEW headers from Deere, including the MacDon flex headers made for Deere will use the ABM-D-3F system. But SOME HDR-series can also be spec’d with the LONG main point guards, so ALWAYS get a guard part number. If it is not listed on our charts, I’ll bet we can find what it was a sub-from if we talk to a dealer.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0520/6442/0019/files/Picture10_17aeb0b7-a757-49c0-b2e6-e6f7c3b372c5.png?v=1789420344
